Larry Platt Visits the Vikings

So, I guess Mr. Larry Platt decided that he should pay a visit to the Vikings before their game to give them a little encouragement. He performed Pants on the Ground for them and had them in stitches. The video isn’t the greatest quality but it’s still funny.

No Copyright = No Money

According to TMZ magazine, since Larry Platt had not bothered to copyright the song, Pants on the Ground, he hasn’t made a cent from it.  People are singing it all over the place, groups are remaking it into cover songs, and a sneaky American Idol employee even bought the .com of the domain name months ago.  There are t-shirts all over the place with Larry Platt’s image and phrase all over it but he’s not making anything.  So, he’s finally being smart and getting himself a lawyer.

And he’s even interested in doing a duet with Brett Lafavre, quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings!

Larry Platt Getting a Record Deal?

Larry Plattx-inset-communityAccording to Ace Show Biz it’s true! Jake Records, the same independent label that works with such up and comers as Element, Westside Bugg, Tre-P, Shock G, Young Mass Presents, producer Dae One, and the multi-platinum Hip Hop legends Digital Underground, has offered him a deal. The CEO, Scott Thomas, has praised Larry Platt for his infectious energy and is looking forward to working with him.

I guess we haven’t heard the last of Pants on the Ground yet!

More on The View and Larry Platt

You know, I’d never watched The View before.  And now I know why.  Those women even make Barbara Walters look stupid and I know she’s not.  Seriously, how could anyone sit through an hour of that inane blathering for an hour?  The only reason I watched it was because I wanted to see the actual Larry Platt performance and the interview (if you can call it that).  I was really disappointed that they couldn’t go a little deeper and talk to him about some of his causes, the things he believes in so strongly that he’s willing to march and demonstrate for them.  They are completely amused by his story of how he saw a guy with a baby bottle and a pacifier in his mouth but they are not getting that it is more than just a funny song – it’s about the denigration of today’s youth and their willingness to be associated with things like wearing your pants on the ground.  It’s about pride for your country and hard work.  Do you think they could have gotten that out of him?

Damn – I’m just going to have to interview the man on my own!

Pants on the Ground Unique Video

There are a load of Pants on the Ground remixes out there – some good, some crap – but I wanted to feature this one because I think they did a great job with the video.  Most of the remixes are just using pictures on the Internet for visuals but this guy did a great job of creating an original video to go with it.
